The Marketing Funnel is a model that illustrates the customer journey — from first discovering a brand to eventually making a purchase and potentially becoming a loyal advocate.
It’s called a “funnel” because it starts wide (with a broad audience) and narrows down as prospects move through each stage, filtering down to actual customers.
The customer becomes aware of your brand, product, or service for the first time.
Goal: Capture attention through ads, social media, SEO, content marketing, etc.
Now that they’re aware, they begin showing interest — maybe by visiting your website, following you, or reading your blog.
Goal: Provide valuable content and engage through email, blogs, videos, etc
At this stage, the customer is evaluating whether to choose you over competitors.
Goal: Build trust using case studies, reviews, testimonials, free trials, or product comparisons.
The prospect takes a desired action — like purchasing, signing up, or contacting you.
Goal: Make it easy to convert with strong CTAs, clear value, offers, and smooth UX.
